Great to hear from you Tanya. Wishing you all the best for 2011. I look forward to hearing all about your travel, but not the spiders. I hate spiders. Be sure to sleep with netting over you. Looks like you have quite the journey to go yet …. when to you hope to be at your school in Sitopogo? How long of a travel is it to Sitopogo from where you have landed now and how are you getting to Sitopogo, but jeep, bus, or small plane?

    Happy New Year Tanya.

Darlene (from Pilates class) – I will be sure to pass this blog site onto the other participants in the class.

    hey Tanya
well it sounds like so far you are having a great time. Love the picture of your students. Who’s the hottie in the back row. hahahah .
Okay so now you have a tree in your room, omg you are all so brave, I would have freaked seeing that, but again you are in Africa and I guess the pets come with the territory.

Yes we got snow and more today Saturday, so honestly enjoy your HOT weather.
Jamie texted us yesterday saying she and Paul arrived in Cuba safe and sound.

    Hey Tania,

Glad to hear that everything is going good and you are all settled in. Your posts have been so interesting and remind me of my time in South Africa. I also remember standing out at the schools we taught at and everyone being so interested in us. However your experience is more authentic than mines that’s for sure. It is an experience that will never be forgotten. It is so interesting to hear about your school and the variety of students you are teaching. Looking forward to hearing more in future posts and seeing more pictures.

Wishing you all the best, Jasmine

    Hi Tanya,

My name is Joanna, and I was recently accepted into the WorldTeach Semester Program beginning in June. My Mom actually stumbled upon your blog one day and sent me the link. I just wanted to let you know that I really appreciate your journaling; it’s wonderful to read about your experiences and try to prepare myself a little better for what the future may hold.

    Continued best wishes!

WOW…Hi Tanya, hope all is well. I’m so amazed and impressed and proud of the courage to do what you do, I thought it foolish at first then later a bit of jealousy that turns to pride and amazment…WOW, Namibia, I’ve been studying the country and the area as well as commerce, currency, tourism, the deserts, and reading about the oil drill’n just off the coast and what-not, and have seen what a wild place you’re in.

Reading about your adventures is a bit daunting, the clash of ways of life, and how you deal with it. Your Mom told me about your adventure before, but this is the first trip into here Tan, these are great windows into your present lifestyle, looking forward to more reading later, cuz KookieKay is gunna be there soon, is there a way to hide the kids, lol. I hope she enjoys it as much, but I doubt it. (just kid’n)

btw-Your Grandpa is doing pretty good too.

Hi!!! How are you guys?!? I think about Gabriel all the time and hope he is doing well at school. I did send the package I promised. I sent one package with an mp3 player and some stuff for your mom back in February and them sent one more package back in April with school supplies. I guess this means he didn’t receive either is them. This is very upsetting. Please tell him I am very sorry. I really wanted him to have them.
I am doing well. It is starting to get wry cold here – soon it will snow. I am Miss the hot Namibian sun!
Please say hello to everyone for me. Xoxox
      Miss Tanya
